NYC Subway Adventure Guide

I designed the New York Subway Adventure Guide and the accompanying “To the End of the Line” logo with Allen James as a way to help residents and tourists alike discover gems of food, entertainment, and beauty hidden throughout the city. This compact guide features maps, photographs, and historical tidbits for neighborhoods at more than 30 subway stops. At over 200 pages, the guide is a thorough exploration of vibrant parts of New York City that are often overlooked.

 
 

Guide to Planning in Ohio

This massive guide was developed by the Ohio chapter of the American Planners Association to help semi-professionals working in state, county, and city Ohio government navigate the complexities of urban and rural planning. The 300+ page book presents a collection chapters written by team of planning experts on various topics that municipalities might face, from economic development to management of public health and waste water. The result was a highly technical assembly of copy, call outs, photography, custom charts and illustrations, and detailed footnotes.

 

Habitat for Humanity

I designed a number of different fundraising pieces for Habitat for Humanity, from single-page advertisement to postcards and more elaborate fold-out mailers.

 

Photo Opp Book

Photo Opp is a non-profit that promotes photography-based storytelling and seeks to increase the appreciation of visual expression in the community. I’ve worked with them on a series of photography exhibit books, highlighting work from local photographers and the development of the organization itself. As a designer, my goal was to present the material in an engaging way but to largely let the work speak for itself.

Baylor Scott & White Health

Working with Alacrity Creative, I designed internal promotional materials that BSWH used to engage and inform new enrollees regarding their various benefits.

 

Voice of Witness

Voice of Witness uses the form of oral history and storytelling to increase awareness of areas of the world that have been affected by disaster, conflict, or oppression as a means to advance the concept of human rights. Over the course of a few years I worked on book projects highlighting this mission, as well as annual reports.
